Where are you from?

I grew up outside of Ozark in Ewell, AL on a peanut/chicken house farm. I graduated from George W Long in 1997.

How long have you been a lawyer?

I graduated from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, AL, and was admitted into the Alabama Bar in 2005. I then began working as an attorney in Greenville, AL, where I practiced several types of law. in 2014, I opened The Valenzuela Law Firm in Ozark, AL and have been practicing there since. 

Why are you running for District Judge?

I have always wanted to serve my community, especially the children. This community is my family, and I would love to have the opportunity to give back to the people I love most. I would be honored to be able to use my skills and knowledge, always with compassion and empathy, to serve my community as District Judge in juvenile, criminal, small claims, and traffic courts.

What are your qualifications to be Judge? 

In addition to holding a J.D. degree and having been an Alabama State Bar member since 2005, I am a Certified Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), and a Certified Mediator and Arbitrator. I have been a Certified Veteran's Advocate handling V.A. disability claims for our service members and also handled Social Security Disability claims for more than 15 years. I have also been a member of multiple professional organizations, such as NOVA, NOSSCR, and NACBA. 

How would the running of the judgeship look under your leadership?

If elected to serve as District Judge, Place One, I will be committed to maintaining an efficient, impartial court that upholds the Constitution and earns the public’s trust. I will dedicate myself to applying the law fairly and expeditiously, managing cases promptly, and ensuring that the courtroom remains a place of professionalism and respect.
